OPEN HOUSE
Sandia Base will hold it's annual Open House on Thursday September 2nd. There will be a PTA general meeting at 5:30PM in the Cafeteria followed by classroom visitations from 6:00PM to 7:00PM. All sandia Base families are welcome.

Base Passes
If you live off Kirtland Air Force Base and will need a pass to enter you will need to apply for your pass between August 12th and August 13th.

First Day of Classes
The first day of classes for students in the 1st through 6th grades will be August 18th.
Kindergarten classes start on Friday August 20th.
Start time is 8:55AM daily and finishes at 3:45PM.
(Wednesday school is out at 12:35 each week)

Registration for the Fall term 2010
Registration for the Fall term will take palce on August 12 and 13. This registration will be for new students and to make any changes to pre-registration documents completed in the Spring.
Registration will be in the Cafeterial, 9:00AM-4:00PM. If you have not already completed registration documents you will need to bring proof of residency (Rental agreement or Electric bill), vaccination records, and birth certificate.

Student Trasfer Applications
Parents can start requesting a transfer to a school outside of their designated attendance area beginning February 2nd, 2009. Parents can apply at the APS Service Center, 6400 Uptown Blvd., Suite 100 West, or go online to the Service Center Home Page, aps.edu

Kindergarten Pre-registration for 2010-2011
Regisration for incoming Kindergarten students takes place on August 12th and August 13th. Kindergarten Students start school on August 23rd. Kindergarten teachers will contact you to arrange for a parent conference before their first day of classes..

New Mexico Standards Based Assessment
Sandia Base students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades will start State mandated testing on Monday, March 29th and will finish on April 7th.
Makeup testing will finish on April 15th.

Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts Recruitment
The Sandia Base Girl Scout Scouts will be recruiting for new members at registration on August 12th, 2010.
